Hello there!
My name is Nova, Nova Sparks! Well, not really, but did you really think that a teenage girl would give out her real name on the internet? Stalkers!
And my parents are stalker ninjas, so I gotta keep a look out for them. o-o
Anyways, I'm Nova, and I am apegasister female brony! I started liking MLP: FiM around the start of the second season, by the chance of me surfing the TV out of boredom. I randomly found the show, and the first thing I thought was, "The heck is this?"
But, thanks to my curiosity for just about everything, I kept watching it. I watched a few more shows here and there, and slowly got caught up in it. Embarrassed to be watching a 'baby show'--as my siblings call TV Shows meant for younger audiences--I watched them at random and out of order, not daring to record them on our DVR, since we have the HUB.
I was homeschooled then, and didn't really have many friends or things to do. So I went to the computer and its many options, including the internet, to give myself something to do.
I soon discovered the Brony.
Honestly, at first I thought that it was funny that grown men could like the show. Then I remembered that I liked it too. Was it really so different?
I was only on a small forum at the time, known as WCF, and didn't know much about the internet. But soon... I discovered the fandom.
The concept wasn't that new--I knew tons of people who were fans of things--but what got me was that there were so many people like me! It blew me away. How could this many people like this show?
I went to my parents, acting clueless, and asked them what a brony was.
My mom said that it was a pedophile.
She still does.
Of course, with the fandom so large and what the fandom is about, there has to been pedophiles out there who are bronies, but saying that every one of them are... that's like saying that all Americans are fat! There's a lot of them, but not everyone is like that.
Soon I was in High School, and discovered that there were many, many teen age bronies/pegasisters/female bronies. So I asked about them.
"Just teens trying to draw attention to themselves," was their answer. Maybe some, but then again...
Who really knows?
Anyway, after that, I openly started watching the show at home, and recording the series. My parents made fun of me, which has always been a sore spot for me, but I tried to ignore it. Oh well.
But my younger brother... he liked it too!
So, we watch it together, and I show him occasional online content, which we both keep secret from our parents. He doesn't know much about the internet, and I kinda keep him in the dark since he is still young.
As in Elementary School.
So, I am a Female Brony, and always will be.
Unlike other fandoms... this one has something special, something no other fandom has.
And I'm going to figure out just what it is.
